The 5 Vayus- Increase the Health and Vitality of the Body

At its heart, hatha yoga is more than just flexibility or strength in postures; it is the management of prana, the vital life force that animates all levels of being. Prana enables the body to move and the mind to think. It is the intelligence that coordinates our senses, and the perceptible manifestation of our highest selves. By becoming more attentive to prana- and enhancing and directing its flow through the practice of hatha yoga- we can invigorate the body and mind, develop an expanded inner awareness, and open the door to the higher states of consciousness. We are thrilled to welcome Sandra Anderson, from the Himalayan Institute, to our studio!


The breath is so important in creating a complete union of the body, mind, and spirit. I have taken this workshop twice with Sandra, as well as the 500 hour teacher training at Himalayan Institute, and she puts this awareness of the breath into a place of deeper understanding helping students feel the pose without effort. This workshop increases the understanding of how we can transition effortlessly through poses and maintain a meditaion while practicing. Through this workshop I have been able to understand the concept of moving meditation which is something that assists us with finding harmony in ourselves.
