Meet the Worms at the Compost Heroes reading with Reba Linker

Starting to learn about composting is a wonderful way for children to become aware of how important the environment is and what we can do to help it thrive. Reba Linker will read from her comic book-style story about forest animals saving their home and learning how to compost. Reba will also bring in her own compost with live worms!
To attend this wonderful Earth Month event please call or preregister online by clicking here!

Just in case you missed Restorative Sunday @ 5PM...
Nick recommend side lying pose on each side of the body. Using a bolster (or stacking blankets to keeps you knee hip height) and a pillow or blanket to support the head helps to maintain a neutral spine so you can thoroughly relax as you hold this pose for 3-5 minutes on each side.
For more poses that help to relax, revive, and restore the body, mind, and spirit come to Nick's regular Restorative Yoga class every Sunday @ 5PM.

Sunday Foundations Level 1
We have heard for different students that Saturdays isn't always a convenient time for the Foundation 1 Workshop due to a number of very understandable reasons. We still want you guys to enjoy the benefits of this wonderful workshop so we are starting a sign up list for a Sunday Foundations 1 Workshop. We need at least 6 people to hold the workshop so if you are interested please let the front desk staff know so we can schedule a day.
Hey, if this works out we may even get to have a Level 2, too!

Sometimes our paths split so that we can meet again...
The yoga journey I have been traveling continues to move on and I must go with it. Sadly this means I will not be working at bamboomoves anymore, but I will continue to be here as a student. I will miss sitting behind the desk catching up with everyone, but bamboomoves will always be my home!I love Bamboomoves. There are so many memories with teachers, staff, and students that I will carry in my heart where ever I go. Anywhere from Sue pushing me not to give up as I pursue the impossible pose that suddenly becomes possible, to Nick playing Florence +the Machine in every class because everyone loves it, to Yoshio reminding me that every moment is fleeting, and Sasha smiling quietly in class when one of us finally gets into that inversion.
My favorite was always pow wowing in the lobby before and after class. These are the things that mean the most to me. Bamboomoves always has that above all else!
Love you guys!

Foundations Level 1 with Nick

Mr. Stick Figure Man can do the perfect cobra pose. It isn't because he practices daily. It isn't because he meditates daily. It isn't because he's vegan. It isn't because he spent a year living in an ashram or traveled to India to studying under a great guru. It isn't because he was blessed with some heavenly yoga talent.
It's because he is a single line drawing with no bones, muscles, joints or breath.
Luckily Nick is three dimensional so he is way better equipped at helping us deepen our practice then flat Mr. Stick Figure Man. Since Nick has bones, muscles, joints, and breathe Nick will be able to answer our many questions, help us better understand our poses through adjustments and demonstrations, and lead us further into our yoga practice.
Mr. Sick Figure Man can't do this because he wasn't drawn with a mouth.
So we may be able to look at Mr. Stick Figure Man and think, "Wow, perfect pose."
Then we can go to Foundations Level 1 with Nick and learn about the realness that is yoga!
Thanks Nick!!!!
Good luck practicing pranayama with no nose, Mr. Stick Figure Man!
